The paper box developed from casual discussions with a New York collector over her love of rapper Cardi-B. As a strong black female herself, I developed graffiti lettering along the sides of the box. We discussed marquetry and inlay and how that applies to paper.
Like all my paper sculpture the art hides the fact that the heavy appearing object is as light as air and ephemeral.
Included in the design is a paper female torso key with paper tassel and concept inspiration bound paper book held with the box.
